Silk River India walk starts today!

Today we begin our adventure down the Hooghly with Silk River India!

The day’s activities are presented in collaboration with International Murshidabad Resurgence Festival 2017.

6th Dec – Schedule

• 2pm Meet at Jain Kothi, Azimganj
• Heritage Walk in Azimganj led by Pradip Chopra
• Return to Barikothi one of the old Zamindar houses in that area that is being restored to its’ former grandeur by the Dudhoria Family.
• After lunch in the palace there will be a short seminar in Azimganj on riverfront regeneration and place-making.
• The evening will be a spectacular launch programme for the Silk River India walk in collaboration with International Murshidabad Resurgence Festival 2017. It will include a specially selected cultural programme, dinner and film screenings on the history of Murshidabad, as well as the Silk River scrolls.

Cultural Programme: Bangla Qawwali – Amanat Fakir, Arman Fakir, Babu Fakir.
