“Sounds of Kolkata” is the soundscape used in the Orchids Festival which captures a typical day in Kolkata, from wild birds at daybreak to the cacophony of sounds in the heart of the city. It was created by Kinetika Bengali artist and filmmaker Korak Ghosh.

If, like me, you are yearning for a brief respite from the long dull English winter I recommend you get down to Kew Gardens where you can take off to Kolkata by immersing yourself in a highly emotive soundscape created by Bengali artist and film maker Korak Ghosh. I ask him to tell me a little about how he created this oral narrative.
